Hi, I’m Dr. Shelly Flais, with today’s tip for kids from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Food additives can harm children’s development – and raise the risk of obesity. To lower the risk, choose fresh fruits and vegetables when you can, and avoid processed meats. Don’t put plastic in the microwave. Because heat can cause chemicals to leak into your food. When cooking or serving hot foods, use glass or ceramic dishes. For more on keeping your child healthy, talk with your pediatrician, or visit HealthyChildren.org.
