hi I’m Marissa Iskandar and I want to share
two facts about me first of all a lot of people want to know do I speak fluent
bahasa indonesia and no I do not I am still learning bahasa indonesia in fact
matter of fact when I read the comments sometimes I do not understand the
comments sometimes I have to use Google Translate and sometimes there’s a little
bit of slang in the comments I’m like what is this you know so I’m still
learning and then also people want to know am I a full time youtuber and the
answer is no and also one fact is that there’s so many people that say try
satay maranggi, COBA SATE MARANGGI and I’m so curious and I was like why
haven’t I tried satay maranggi okay I’m gonna try in my next food culinary video
so that’s where I’m heading right now so follow me I arrived at Sate Maranggi Haji Yetty a
legendary joint that’s been open since 1980 it’s so famous that it draws crowds
of people to eat their specialty version of satay maranggi satay maranggi is commonly found in West Java this satay is mostly made from lamb or beef
marinated in a special sauce and grilled to perfection on an open charcoal fire it’s served with a signature sauce made of fresh chili and slices of tomato and commonly eaten with plain rice or
oncom wrapped with traditional banana leaves what makes satay maranggi
different is the sauce it’s not topped with typical peanut sauce but it is
served with vibrant sweet spicy chili sauce Wow, Wooaa…. that sauce is really flavorful
you can taste the sweet kick to it a spicy kick to it and a little bit of a
tanginess kick to it and then the meat of the beef is very tender and very delicious now this is some good satay mmmm…… now I also ordered some nasi
oncom, okay so this is nasi oncom and it’s mixed with fish and there’s Petai in there
the (stink bean) and also there’s a little bit of the chili and it looks like
maybe there’s a little bit of fried shallots in there and it smells really good smells very fragrant ahhhh….. the rice right away you can taste the
freshness of the fish that’s mixed inside its very fresh, tasty and then you
have a nice strong kick of the chili that’s mixed in here and honestly I
can’t taste the stink bean inside its very good now I’m going to try the lamb
satay so I’m going to dip it in this nice sauce right here mmm….. look at that and then this one compared
to the beef satay it’s more fuller and thicker in size the other one
was a little bit more smaller in size MMMMMMMM……. mmmm….. Wow wow this is really juicy and its very full of meat, it’s very MEATY mmmm….. by far this is my favorite one compared
to the beef satay there both good but this one is more delicious mmmm…. mix with that
nice sauce it gives it that perfect balance MMMM….. now this is good satay its very delicious and very flavorful mmmm….. and then mixed with the rice it
softens the flavor of the spiciness mixed with the satay and it’s a little bit less sweet so you have the saltiness and the sweet it balances each other out in flavor its really good mmm… but honestly I can just have the satay alone without the rice and it
be just as good eating it by itself it’s so FLAVORFUL this is so delicous mmmmmmm……… so overall this is a great experience to
try a new version of satay and overall out of all the satay I’ve tried
in Indonesia there is not one version that I dislike there all so good and I’m so grateful that I get to try so many good Indonesian culinary here I have so much to explore satay maranggi is good…… ๐Ÿ™‚ and thank you for watching this video make sure you like comment and subscribe to my channel thank you and I’ll see
y’all next time bye bye

Sate Maranggi before Purwakarta city was always my distination for lunch when I passed through the place. Good job Marrisa finally you found & try the taste of one of the best sate in Indonesia.
Not too far from the place, when you go to Bandung via Subang & Lembang, there is a small town names Kalijati. In Kalijati you will find small warung which is serve Ayam Bekakak as it main menu. Ayam Bekakak is a unieq Sundanese traditonal roasted local chicken & you have to try it someday.
